Fibre backhaul

Getting the signal across, even with the trees in the way
This is where consumer kit gives up. The link technology and the band are chosen for the distance and the obstacles, not the other way round.
5 GHz for speed, short to medium hops
Where the path is clear and the distance is modest, 5 GHz carries the most throughput. Great between buildings on the same block; more affected by rain over long distances, which we plan for.
2.4 GHz for distance & light scrub
For the long ones, 2.4 GHz propagates further and pushes through light vegetation and over water better than 5 GHz, the reason it's still the workhorse for rural and remote links.
Masts & relays for blocked paths
When trees or a hill sit in the line of sight, we lift an end onto a mast or hop the link via a relay point that can see both ends. Most "impossible" sites are just a height problem.

We fit both ends, aim the dishes for best signal, run the cable in, and set up the network and coverage.

We watch signal, throughput and uptime, alert you to trouble, and keep the link tuned as things change.
